Town of Whitewater Town Board Meeting Minutes

Present: Lowell Hagen, Robert Strand, Norm Pruesner, Jorja Boiley

Norm made a motion to accept the agenda, seconded by Bob, the motion passed unanimously.

The minutes of the May 28, 2020 meeting were reviewed. Norm noted that a change in the minutes be made to reflect that the patching area that need to be fixed is on Converse Road, not “Kind Dr”. Norm moved that the minutes be approved as changed; Bob seconded the motion; the motion passed unanimously.

Norm motioned to adjourn to Confidential Closed Session; seconded by Bob; motion carried and adjourned at 8:05 AM.

Meeting reconvened at 8:25 AM

Other town business:

Bob Strand reported that he followed up on a request by a town resident to have mowing done in a public area that is not usually mowed.

Currently the Town is purchasing salt and sand that is mixed by the County, which is a more expensive than if we mix it in house. No firm decision was made at this time.

Contract for Gardiner Appraisal services was signed. The contract slightly higher than previously due to changes in law. Norm made a motion to accept the contract, Bob seconded the notion; the motion passed unanimously.

Norm made a motion to proceed with the 2020 Road Projects except for the Howard Road repair. The contracts will be awarded to the lowest bid for each project. Seconded by Lowell; motion passed unanimously.  Howard Road is not in the plan for this year due to other road construction in the area that will increase traffic on Howard. Repairs at this time would be counter-productive. This will also leave some room in the budget for unexpected repairs.

Scott Construction is awarded the contract for the Converse Road and Kettle Moraine Dr. projects. Payne and Dolan is awarded the Clover Valley Road and R&W Town Line Rd projects.

Norm made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Bob; motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 8:39 AM
