Absentee Ballot Voting Information
VOTING BY ABSENTEE
BALLOT
TOWN OF WHITEWATER
Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day (April 2, 2024) may submit a written request to vote an absentee ballot. This request should be made to the Town Clerk. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen who:
- Will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day.
- Has resided in the Town of Whitewater for at least 28 consecutive days before the election.
You must also be registered to vote to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.
Making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail:
Contact the Clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for all elections or for specific elections to be held in 2024. You may file a written request in person, by mail, by email or at MyVote.wi.gov.
Your written request must include:
- Your voting address within the Town of Whitewater.
- The address where you want the absentee ballot sent if different from the address provided in #1.
- Your signature.
- A copy of your photo ID.
The deadline for making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail is: 5:00 PM on the fifth day before the election: March 28, 2024.
Possible exceptions:
*Voters who are indefinitely confined due to age, illness, infirmity or disability may not be required to provide photo ID.
*Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined, in the military, hospitalized or serving as a sequestered juror.
*If either of these exceptions apply to you, contact the Clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.
In-person, absentee ballot voting:
Whitewater Town Hall; W8590 Willis Ray Road, Whitewater, 53190.
The first day to vote in-person, absentee ballot is March 19, and the last day to vote in-person absentee is March 29.
Scheduled in-person absentee ballot voting will be held on the following days/times:
Thursday, March 21, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Saturday March 23, 9:00 AM – Noon.
Tuesday, March 26, 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM.
Other times available by appointment only.
All absentee ballots dropped off in person or mailed must be received at the Town Hall no later than 8:00 PM on Election Day, April 2, 2024. Any absentee ballots received after 8:00 PM will not be counted. FYI – the only ballot you may drop off in person is your own.
