FYI: Mail in ballots and early, in-person voting

VOTING INFORMATION FOR THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024 ELECTION
MAIL- IN ABSENTEE BALLOT

EARLY, IN-PERSON VOTING

TOWN OF WHITEWATER

 

Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day (November 5, 2024) may submit a written request to vote an absentee ballot. This request should be made to the Town Clerk. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen who:

  1. Will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day.
  2. Has resided in the Town of Whitewater for at least 28 consecutive days before the election.

The elector must also be registered to vote to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.

Making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail:

Email the Clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you or request one at MyVote.wi.gov. for all elections or for specific elections to be held in 2024. When requesting an absentee by mail, you must include a photo ID issued by the State of Wisconsin or a passport photo.

 Your written request must include:

  1. Your voting address within the Town of Whitewater.
  2. The address where you want the absentee ballot sent if different from the address provided in #1.
  3. Your signature.
  4. A copy of your photo ID.

 

The deadline for making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail is:

5:00 PM on the fifth day before the election: Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

 

*Voters who are indefinitely confined due to age, illness, infirmity or disability may not be required to provide photo ID.

*Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined, in the military, hospitalized or serving as a sequestered juror.

*If either of these exceptions apply to you, contact the Clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot.

 

Early, In-person, absentee ballot voting
The first day to vote in-person, absentee ballot is October 22, 2024 and the last day to vote in-person absentee is October 31, 2024.  Scheduled in-person absentee ballot voting will be held on the following days/times:
Tuesday, October 22, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Thursday, October 24, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Monday, October 28, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Tuesday, October 29,  8:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Thursday, October 31, 8:30 AM – 1:30 PM

 Other times available by appointment only.

All absentee ballots dropped off in person or mailed must be received at the Town Hall no later than 8:00 PM on November 5, 2024.  Any received after 8:00 PM will not be counted. FYI – the only ballot you may drop off in person is yours. There is a drop box slot in the garage door at the Town Hall.
