Minutes Town Board Meeting

November 11, 2020

The November 11, 2020 town board meeting was called to order at 6:55 PM by Lowel Hagen.

Persons in attendance: Lowell Hagen, Norm Prusener, Bob Strand, Jorja Boiley (not a qualified elector), Cheryl Rezabek, Cathy Braun, Caroline Pate-Hefty

Norm Prusener made a motion to accept the agenda after removing the Fuzzy Pig servers permit item, seconded by Bob Strand and the motion carried.

Norm Prusener made a motion to accept the minutes from the November 9, 2020 special meeting, seconded by Bob, the motion carried.

Treasurer Report – bank balances were read and note was made that the annual deposit of $10,000.00 to the Equipment fund was transferred in November.

Clerk Report –

  • 961 voters; absentee ballots issued for wards 1 & 2 were 487 and 53 in ward 3.; there were 39 new registrations on election day
  • New town hall hours: M, T, Th: 8:30 — 1:30
  • Thank you from Scattered Oaks residents on targeted clean-up of their neighborhood
  • Request from Southern Lakes Plumbing & heating to install septic N 7588 Ridge Rd under the ROW. The process involves an Encroachment Agreement, lawyers and board approval. I have told them I needed assistance from Board on how to proceed

Norm Prusener made a motion to accept the Treasurer and Clerk report, seconded by Bob Strand and the motion carried.

There were no Supervisor’s reports.

Sheriff’s department reported 316 service calls in October. There was one break-in incident which is being investigated there is a potential suspect.

Norm Prusener made a motion to approve the one-day liquor license for the February 14, 2021 event at the Lion’s Club and for two server permits, the motion was seconded by Lowell Hagen and the motion carried with a 2/3 vote. Bob Strand abstained.

Norm Prusener made a motion to change the wording for approval for Edge Broadband from a variance designation to a rezone and conditional use for the property at N8990 County Road P, Whitewater, WI, Walworth County, from A-1 zone to A-4 and C-4 Zone; Bob Strand seconded the motion; the motion carried.

Michelle Strauss from the Horton Group Insurance Group presented their proposal for a renewal effective 12-30-2020. After discussion, no decision was made.

Caroline Pate-Hefty from the Whitewater Unified School District provided an up-date on issues within the district regarding Covid-19 related issues. 215 students have left the district to attend other schools that are holding in classroom sessions.

Public input: Cathy Braun was asking if the town would provide hi-intensity flashlights for use on the safety patrol boat. No decision was made, however, it was suggested that the request be made to Lake Management.

The Board paid bills.

Norm Prusener made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Bob Strand; the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM.
