Town of Whitewater Special Town Board Meeting

 

Lowell Hagen called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM

In attendance: Lowell Hagen, Norm Prusener, Bob Strand, Jorja Boiley

 

Norm made a motion to approve the agenda as presented; Bob seconded the motion and the motion carried.
After a review of minutes of the December 17, 2021 Special Town Board Meeting, Norm made a motion to  approve the minutes as written, seconded by Bob; the motion carried

 

Mr. Cameron Clapper, City Manager for the City of Whitewater, requested the opportunity to meet with the Whitewater Town Board. The purpose of the meeting was to share Mr. Clapper’s vision to integrate the EMS services and the Whitewater Fire Department into the City. Mr. Clapper expressed the advantages to the integration would include decreasing the difficulty in staffing for the paid-on-call model, reduce reliance on neighboring communities for help on fire calls, improve service response and improve recruitment and provide a fulltime management team for oversight.

The proposed project will require agreement from both the Fire Department, EMS services, surrounding communities who contract for those services and a potential referendum that would be on the November, 2022 election ballot.

 

Norm made a motion to use Bob Knapp for the Town’s recycling of metals as this company offers a 50/50 split on revenues. The motion was seconded by Bob and the motion carried.

Norm made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Bob and the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 10:25 AM.
